Norman Lear- TV IDOL

I don't know how to post youtube videos on here. or i don't understand links. i'll have marie teach me at some point. BUT GO TO THIS WEBSITE:

This man has balls. Basically. The mastermind behind shows such as: All in the Family, The Jeffersons, Maude, Sanford and Son (scrubs anyone?), One Day at a Time, and many others. He changed the format of Situation Comedies (sitcoms). From a time where people didn't watch and experience racism, love, sex, abortion, war, and many other taboo topics on television, Lear and All in the Family broke down all barriers and said FUCK YOU CENSORSHIP, and yeah it's brilliant.
You can tell he's really proud of himself and everything he's done- which he should be. The video is 28 minutes long (only one part of the 18 hundred million part archive series) which I know most of you won't watch. BUT, if you are a TV junkie such as myself, you'll love the brutal honesty of the beginnings of the show to the stardom it achieved. He has paved the way for those like Seth MacFarlane, by taking his idea and running with it, and not letting anyone tell him he couldn't do it. Anyone who wants to be a big time television producer should live, eat, and breathe the life of Lear. He is the sensei of the tv dojo.

But we can't dismiss the genius that is Carol O'Connor, the man who put the life in Archie Bunker. He had a HUGE part in the success of the show not only contributing to the writing and concepts of episodes but being able to play LOVABLE bigot- which, without a doubt, was exactly what he was. No one else could do what he did, an exceptional actor and apparently, the complete opposite of his most popular character.
