So first of all, I know you will all hate me, BUT:
YES OMG YES I FUCKING LOVE IT. OKAY?! GET OFF MY BACK I CAN'T HELP IT. sorry. Since this premiered tuesday I've listened to it about 6 thousand times. What is wrong with me? Maybe its my love of mens a capella, this katy perry song, good looking boys SINGING a capella, and an adorable gay love affair that's cuter than two puppies playing that has me addicted to this rendition of teenage dream. Its driving my roommates crazy- its the only thing I'm singing out loud obnoxiously nowadays.
What's hilarious is the actual piece itself sucks. I mean, yeah let's get MORE really goofy off beat guys bopping around to the music, and more uncoordinated backup a capella singers. But still, this is huge, and I'm in love.
Oprah Winfrey and Whoopi Goldberg Reconcile.
What's funny about this episode of Oprah was that I just recently rewatched the Color Purple for the first time in about 9 or 10 years and hated myself for not doing it earlier, I wasn't aware of the "feud" between Oprah and Whoopi but this moment is really touching, I mean a serious "Oprah" moment. Both of these ladies are extremely talented and its nice to see another great daytime tv moment.
Glory Daze
As I was watching Conan (that's a whole OTHER post coming up, trust me), I was watching these previews for a new show called Glory Daze. I immediately write it off as obnoxious. I mean, do I REALLY need to see more about the 1980s in media? I get it, the 80s was great. PLUS, its on TBS and no offense, I really have no high hopes for ANY original scripted TBS show (Bill Engvall, Meet the Browns... even though My Boys was great).
But, I happened to look again and notice all these familiar faces involved in the show: Brad Garrett, Tim Meadows, and Cheri Oteri. I feel like if I just watched that damn trailer again I'd be able to remember a couple more. So is it good? I guess we'll find out for ourselves.
Community Bottle Episode
Unfortunately, whenever I think of bottle episodes, I can only think of Friends, NOT THAT they aren't hilarious and amazing, but its hard for me to find tv shows that do that kind of idea anymore. Bottle episode BASICALLY means the whole show is revolved around all the characters in ONE room.
OH. WILL AND GRACE. now I remember. That one was hilarious.
I was surprised that they decided to pull out these tricks so early on in the show's career. Well, it may make sense considering the show is constantly on the verge of cancellation, they want to show what they can do.
I don't understand why this show isn't more popular, and isn't being praised more by critics. Its absolutely hilarious and I see a bright future for it.
Sorry, rant over. Watch this clip and then catch the full episode online, you'll be glad you did.
Ok. I'm being lazy and I'm sure I'm forgetting other great TV stuff this week. Yes I'll talk about Conan... tomorrow I promise.
Also, is everyone doing National Unfriend Day tomorrow? It's Jimmy Kimmel's only way to create future relevance for himself after his career's over, so lets do it for him!
...... j/k Jimmy, J/k
